Fatal Crash on Lasalle Extension Claims Life of Local Man; Police Seeking Dash Cam Footage

SUDBURY, ON – June 17, 2025 — A man is dead following a serious three-vehicle collision on the Lasalle Extension early Tuesday morning.

Emergency services responded around 6:15 a.m. to the crash site between Frood Road and Elm Street. According to Greater Sudbury Police, a blue Dodge Caravan travelling westbound collided with a black Dodge Dart and a grey Ford F-150, both heading east.

The 44-year-old man driving the Dodge Dart was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released, in accordance with his family’s wishes. The 43-year-old driver of the Dodge Caravan was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Ford F-150 was unhurt.

“Our deepest condolences go out to the friends and family of the deceased,” police said in a statement.

The Integrated Traffic Safety Unit remains on the scene and is continuing its investigation.

Investigators are appealing to the public for assistance. Anyone who was driving on the Lasalle Extension between 6:00 a.m. and 6:20 a.m. and has dash camera footage is asked to review it and contact the Traffic Management Unit at 705-675-9171 if anything relevant appears.

Police say this footage could be crucial in understanding the circumstances surrounding the crash.
