Dirt bike rider involved in Dowling bus collision has succumbed to his injuries in hospital

Updated - May 30th, 2016 12:10pm:  On Thursday, May 26, 2016, Greater Sudbury Police Service received information that the 16-year old male dirt bike operator who was in a collision with a school bus on May 13, 2016 succumbed to his injuries in an Ottawa hospital.  
The individual had been transported to Health Sciences North immediately after the collision in Dowling, but was later transferred to a hospital in Ottawa to receive additional treatment. 
Greater Sudbury Police Service will not be releasing any additional information regarding the identity of the male out of respect for his family during this very difficult time.  
The investigation into the collision is still ongoing.

Greater Sudbury Police were called to a collision in Dowling around 3:00pm involving a dirt bike and a school bus.

The 16-year-old driver of the dirt bike was rushed to hospital with life threatening injuries and subsequently transferred to an Ottawa hospital for further treatment.
There were no injuries to the driver of the bus and there were no children on board at the time of the collision.
The collision is currently being investigated by the Traffic Management Unit of the Greater Sudbury Police. Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact police at 705.675.9171 ext. 2411.
