Motor vehicle stuck by flying tire

(GARSON, ON) On the 7th of November 2015, at 12:15 pm, the Greater Sudbury Police Service was called to attend the intersection of Falconbridge Road and Margaret Street in Garson, with respect to a motor vehicle collision.

Police were able to determine that the rear driver’s side tire from a west bound half ton pickup truck, had become detached and was propelled across the centerline. The run-away tire was struck by an east bound car. The force of the impact deploy all airbags within the car. The lone female adult in the car was able to bring her vehicle to a safe stop. EMS was dispatched and tended to a minor thumb injury sustained by the female as a result of the deploying airbag. There was also minor damage sustained to both vehicles involved. This matter is still under investigation.
