Vale is pleased to announce that as a result of the 2015 Vale Concert Series, almost $28,000 was raised in funds and food in support of the Sudbury Food Bank.

The series of five concerts began in May and was held throughout the summer at the Grace Hartman Amphitheatre. Admission was free of charge with donations to the Sudbury Food Bank welcomed.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of the community, approximately $77,000 has been raised for the Sudbury Food Bank since the Concert Series began four years ago.

“We cannot thank the community enough for embracing this concert series so generously,” said Angie Robson, Manager of Corporate and Aboriginal Affairs for Vale’s Ontario Operations. “With growing crowds each season, we are so proud to say that this was our most successful year ever. We are thrilled with the result.”

Concerts this year featured Cécile Doo-Kingué, Union Duke, Charlie A’Court, Ennis and Adam Crossley. It is estimated that approximately 6,000 people attended the five concerts this year.

All concerts were produced and managed by Bob Bale, a 2011 recipient of the Sudbury Food Bank ‘Hubby Award’ and a 2015 recipient of a Sudbury Community Builder Award for his charitable work to help feed those in need in the community through the gift of music.

“I’m extremely proud of Sudburians who gave so generously, not only from their wallets but from their hearts, in welcoming and embracing the fine talent we’ve hosted over the years through the Vale Concert Series,” said Bale. “The feeling of community was palpable. Sudbury was a very welcoming place for all the musicians who played in the Series this summer,” he added.

Vale thanks the Travelodge Hotel for generously providing accommodation for the artists, and the City of Greater Sudbury for its support of the Vale Concert Series.
