On the 9th of April 2014 a female party broke into a residence on Riverside Drive and stole the family pet. The owner of the dog was driving in the area of Regent Street the following day and found a female who was walking his dog on the sidewalk. Police were contacted by the male.

Upon arrival the police identified the female suspect who indicated the dog was hers and she had it for approximately a month. The dog was taken by police to ascertain actual ownership of the animal which had been shaved while in the care of the suspect. Investigation revealed the dog was indeed property of the male and it was returned to him and his family.

The male was able to provide police with video surveillance which indicated that the same female was the person who broke into his residence and stole the animal. The video also shows a male party to have been involved with the crime.

A 50 year old female resident has been arrested and charged with break, enter and theft, possess property obtained by crime and mischief. She was released on a promise to appear and will answer to the charges at court on the 21st of May 2014.

GSPS have not yet identified the other involved party and the investigation continues.
