Train forced into emergency stop due to youth playing 'chicken'

For the past two nights Sudbury Police have received calls for service about youths playing chicken on the railway lines which run parallel to Howey Drive in the Minnow Lake area of the city.
This is a very dangerous practice which could result in death or serious injury.   A train was forced into an emergency stop to avoid striking a youth this evening.
This is a Criminal Offence and Police would like to remind the public that the railway tracks and the area surrounding them are private property and being on the tracks for any reason is breaking the law.

These kids gotta realize that when a train that size is forced to big hole the brakes it puts incredible amounts of stress on the couplers and could easily break them and quite possibly knock the train off its rails. A vehicle of this size CAN NOT STOP ON A DIME! The train crews have enough to stress over durring a run...they don't need to deal with stupid kids.

I work on trains and I will warn anyone reading this article thinking it's funny or "awesome". If you play this game with trains, you are guaranteed to lose, every time! Smarten up. You do not realize the stress you put us through. We go to work with a job to do, we don't want to kill anyone in the process. I promise you, you cannot and will not win. Please stop the stupidity. This is a very dangerous thing to do, for yourself and the community that you are doing it in.
