(SUDBURY, ON) On July 29, at approximately 6:00 a.m., residents in the area of 2nd Avenue called Greater Sudbury Police to report a male who was slashing the tires of motor vehicles. The suspect male left the area on a motorcycle and was located by Police.

The motorcycle operator sped away upon seeing Police and lost control becoming involved in a single vehicle collision. The suspect, who sustained minor injuries, then attempted to flee the area on foot but was quickly apprehended by responding officers.
The male was arrested for seven counts of Mischief to Vehicle and for Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle. The male refused to provide a required breath sample.
Numerous Highway Traffic Act charges were also laid as a result of further investigation.
The 20-year old, Greater Sudbury resident has been charged with the following;
1. Mischief Under X 7 – Criminal Code
2. Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle – Criminal Code
3. Refuse Breath Sample – Criminal Code
4. Fail to Stop/Flight from Police – Criminal Code
5. Driving While Under Suspension – Highway Traffic Act
6. Drive Motor Vehicle with Improper License – Highway Traffic Act
7. Possess Cancelled/ Revoked/ Suspended License – Highway Traffic Act
8. Fail to Remain - Highway Traffic Act
9. Use Plate Not Authorized for Vehicle - Highway Traffic Act
10. Fail to Apply for Permit Upon Becoming Owner – Highway Traffic Act
11. Use Validation Not Furnished for Vehicle – Highway Traffic Act
12. Drive Motor Vehicle in Contravention of License Conditions - Highway Traffic Act
13. Owner Operate Motor Vehicle on a Highway – No Insurance – Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act
The accused will appear in video bail court on July 30, 2016.
