Sudbury man charged with attempt murder and weapons dangerous

On September 10th 2016 at approximately 8:30 P.M. both Greater Sudbury Police officers and EMS responded to a call on McLean Street regarding a male passenger who had suffered knife wounds and was now inside a taxi stopped on the side of the road.
The 43 year old male victim suffered a significant head wound and a puncture to the stomach but he was able to inform police who was responsible for the attack.
The victim was transported to Health Sciences North where he is being treated for his wounds; he is expected to make a full recovery.
Greater Sudbury Police officers attended a residence on Dublin Street where the incident occurred and a 45 year old male was apprehended without incident.
Criminal investigators and Forensic officers are continuing the investigation. The accused male is being held in custody and will appear for a Bail hearing later this morning, he is being charged with the following offences:
1. one count of Attempt Murder
2. one count of Weapon Dangerous
3. two counts of Breach of Probation
At the time of this incident there was no danger to the general public as the victim and the offender are known to each other and the incident occurred within a residence.
