Police Pursuit Leads to Drug Arrests

On the 5 th of November 2016, at approximately 11:30pm; Greater Sudbury Police attempted to stop a vehicle traveling eastbound along Lorne St in the City of Greater Sudbury. The vehicle had initially stopped at a red light, but then continued through the intersection at Lorne and Pacific before the light turned green indicating it was safe to do so. The vehicle failed to stop after police activated its emergency lights and siren. It was pursued for less than 500 meters, until the vehicle came to a stop on Ontario St.
The adult male driver was found not to be licensed, a Federal Parolee and in possession of a controlled substance. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of eleven grams of cocaine with an approximate street value of $1100.00. As a result both the driver and passenger were also arrested for Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Controlled Substance. Both men will be in Bail court Sunday morning to answer to their respective charges.
