Pole fire causes power outage in New Sudbury

A pole fire is being blamed for a hydro outage that left part of New Sudbury in the dark November 21st, 2016 around 9:30pm.  Greater Sudbury Utilities successfully restored power to approximately 400 of the 500 customers affected around midnight by re-routing power. The remaining 100 customers were fully restored around 3am.

Update - November 21st, 2016 12:10am - GSU says power has been restored to approximately 400 of the customers affected. It may take another few hours to restore power those still without power. Crews will continue to work on repairs until all customers has been restored.

There is currently a section of New Sudbury without power due to a pole fire near Woodbine/Atlee.

Greaters Sudbury Hydro says crews are working to restore service to approximately 500 customers. The estimated time to repair is a couple hours at this time.

GSU says it's currently trying to re-route power to as many affected as possible.
