Vale is advising Copper Cliff and area residents Monday afternoon to close doors and windows due dust that is being blown around from their operations due to dry and windy conditions.
Dust can cause eye and respiratory irritation and can be especially irritating to children, the elderly and those with asthma and other respiratory conditions.
The company says it has all available personnel on site attempting to control the dust using water and other dust control measures.
