The Manitoba RMCP has issued an Amber Alert after an eight-year-old girl was allegedly abducted by her mother from Portage la Prairie, Man. The child is described as aboriginal, 4-feet tall and 60 lbs. She has black, medium-length hair and was wearing a purple winter coat, black boots and jeans.
The child, Luisa Noyemi Alvarenga, was last seen in a stolen black Chevy Sierra with the license plate FPB 968.
RCMP say the girl was taken from her home by her mother, 43-year-old Colleen Sheryl McIvor.
Police said they believe the child and her mother may be at Long Plain First Nation in Manitoba.
Authorities are concerned for the child’s safety and have urged anyone who has seen the girl or her mother to contact 911 or their local emergency number.
