One person injured in Louis Street Apartment fire

Seventeen firefighters for three stations responded to a six storey apartment building on Louis Street on January 13th, 2017 around 3:40pm

Firefighters rescued one person from the apartment who suffered unknown injuries.

Damage was limited to a single unit with damages estimated around $1000. Fire Damage is described as minor with moderate smoke damage.

Greater Sudbury Fire Services would like to remind residents that every home in Ontario must have a working smoke alarm on every storey and outside all sleeping areas. Test your smoke alarms once a month and replace the batteries every year. Smoke alarms can increase your chances of surviving a fire by up to 50%
