Over 35,000 Sudbury and area hydro customers are without power this evening following an intense thunderstorm that swept across the region this afternoon.

Initial estimates from Hydro One indicated that it will be around 9:00pm this evening before power can be restored to effected area including Chelmsford, Azilda, Lively, Hanmner, Wannup, Noelville, and Whitefish, Skeed, and Garson.

Greater Sudbury Utilities is also reporting outages in Capreol, Copper Cliff, Falconbridge, West End, South End, and the Donovan due to loss of supply feeds from Hydro One. They have not provided any ETR.
