Greater Sudbury Police Seized $50,000 in Illegal Drugs

On Saturday morning May 3rd, members of the Greater Sudbury Police Drug Enforcement Unit, K9 Unit and Uniform Division conducted a Proactive sweep of a local bus terminal on Notre Dame.

As a result of the sweep, police identified 17 year old female from the Greater Toronto area. She was in possession of a small quantity of cannabis marihuana.  The female was bound by court order out of the Greater Toronto area.  Upon being detained, a further search revealed 511 grams of cocaine with an estimated street value of $50,000.00.

As a result of the investigation, she was arrested for:

·       Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, contrary to section 5(1) CDSA

·       Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking to wit: cocaine, contrary to section 5(2) CDSA

·       Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to section 354.1(a) CC
