Greater Sudbury Fire Services respond to Brush Fire in Flour Mill area

Greater Sudbury Fire Services were called to three separate brush fire in the Flour Mill area this morning around 11:45.

Greater Sudbury Fire Services responded with serveral trucks and quickly contained the flames.

Platoon Chief, Terry Laroque stated that Greater Sudbury Fire Services are prepared for this and responded with multiple trucks due to the dry conditions and high winds. He went on to say that even though we have had a lot of rain this spring, conditions are dry and things can change very quickly.

It is currently believe that these fires were deliberately set due to the close proximity of the fires themselves and the time of the span in which calls were received by Emergency Services to report the fires separately.

The first fire was off the end of Clinton Ave at Clinton and Perreault St., the second off the end of Whissell Ave and the third in between, with each fire spaced roughly 500 meters apart.
