The Greater Sudbury Police Service advises that Mattieu Petrin (28 yrs.) of Innisfil, arrested by York Regional Police in connection with a series of sexual assaults involving women's feet, has ties to Greater Sudbury.

Petrin is accused of several instances of licking women's feet and stealing their shoes. He is currently in custody pending a bail hearing and is charged with four counts of Sexual Assault, three counts of Theft under $5,000, in addition to one count each of Sexual Interference with a Person under the age of 16, and Robbery.

The alleged incidents for which he is charged took place in Aurora, Innisfil and Bradford, which lead to a joint investigation involving police services from York, South Simcoe and Barrie.

The Greater Sudbury Police Service`s Criminal Investigations Division is investigating similar incidents which were reported recently in Sudbury.
