Sacre-Coeur student honoured with Governor General's medal

Damiano Bortolotto, a 2014 graduate from Sudbury’s École secondaire du Sacré-Coeur, was presented last week the Governor General's bronze medal for highest academic standing by Sacré-Cœur principal Mr. Paul Henry. This outstanding student earned this honour for having maintained the highest academic standing among all Sacré-Coeur graduates in 2013-2014. A true champion at Sacré-Coeur, Damiano also rewarded with several scholarships including the Laurentian University Excellence Award (for averages above 95%) valued at $3,500, the Northern Scholarship ($1,000) Bourse du Nord de l'Ontario (1,000$) and LU’s President’s Scholarship ($1,000).

Damiano was also the recipient of the following awards: Walmart Canada’s Associate Scholarship ($2,000$), United Steelworkers 6500 Scholarship ($500), CSCNO Vision Scholarship ($500), the Club Richelieu les Patriotes Scholarshiop ($300) and other academic awards from his school ($400-500).
