On Monday February 16th, shortly after 8 pm, there was a single motor vehicle collision on Dennie St, Hanmer of a motorized snow vehicle driving into a telephone pole.
Police were called by witnesses. When police arrived, the driver who was impaired by alcohol was being driven away from the scene by an acquaintance. Police followed and pulled that motor vehicle over and learned that the driver of the motor vehicle was also impaired by alcohol.
Both drivers were arrested for impaired driving. The acquaintance that picked up his friend from the scene of the motor vehicle collision was also arrested for Obstruct Police.
They will both appear in court at a later date to answer to their criminal charges.
