Greater Sudbury Fire Services responded to a kitchen fire at the corner Regional Road 80 and Division shortly before 7:00pm on February 28, 2015.
Damage one apartment within the six unit apartment complex is described and Moderate. Damage is estimated at approximately $80.000. Eight people have been displaced as a result of the fire. There were no injuries.
Greater Sudbury Fire Service remind residents that cooking is the #1 cause of home fires. Don’t leave your cooking unattended. Always stay in the kitchen while you’re cooking – especially if using oil or high temperatures. If a pot catches fire, slide a proper-fitting lid over the pot and turn off the stove. Do not move the pot, let it completely cool off.
