Fatal three vehicle collision closed Highway 69S

On July 8, 2015 at 11:53 a.m. members of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a three vehicle collision on Highway 69 (south of Harris Lake Road) in the Township of the Archipelago.

A northbound Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) collided with a southbound truck and a southbound motorhome.

The driver of the northbound vehicle succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Two vehicle occupants were transported to hospital by Emergency Medical Services (EMS) with non-life threatening injuries.

The Collision had closed Highway 69 for almost seven hours and a detour has been set up for passenger vehicles only. Signs were set up by the Ministry of Transportation to take Highway 529 around the accident scene. The highway has since re-opened.

The investigation is continuing with the assistance of an OPP Collision Reconstructionist and a Technical Traffic Collision Investigator.
