Updated: 5 People charged in Hnatyshyn Park pepper spray incident

Updated - November 15th, 2015 10:30am: This criminal investigation has been concluded and 5 persons have been arrested and charged in relation to this crime. Three adult males, one male youth & one female youth face a total of 22 charges for offences relating to the robbery. The charges include robbery with a weapon, administering a noxious substance, possession of property obtained by crime & failing to comply with various court orders.
The victim received medical treatment for minor injury and was released.

November 8th, 2015 7:30pm: (SUDBURY, ON) On the 8th of November 2015 at approximately 4:20 p.m. a 22 year old male was walking through Hnatyshyn Park when he was approached by 4 native males approximately 18 years of age. The males pepper sprayed the victim and demanded money. The victim was able to initially escape before being caught and pepper sprayed a second time by one of the assailants. The victim once again fled and contacted police. The matter is now being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Division
