Updated: Arrest in Tanguay Avenue mugging of 14yr old girl

 

Updated - January 12th, 2015 9:30pm: An investigation by the Greater Sudbury Police Service Break Enter and Robbery Unit into the January 10th, 2016 Robbery has resulted in the arrest of two males. 
Police have arrested a 19 year old male as well as a 16 year old male. Both have been charged with Robbery. The 16 year old has also been charged with two counts of Breach of Probation under the YCJA. 
Both males will be appearing in bail court Wednesday January 13th, 2016.  
The investigation is continuing

On Sunday, January 10th, 2016, shortly before 2:00 pm, there was a robbery on Tanguay Avenue near Marymount Academy, Sudbury. A 14 year old Sudbury female youth was walking home when approached by two young males.

The first male suspect approached the female and grabbed the victim’s purse on her shoulder. The victim fought back. She was pushed to the ground, but did not sustain any injuries. The purse came loose and the first male grabbed the purse and ran away with the second male. The second male did not do anything but stand by while the first male assaulted the victim and took the purse.
The first male suspect is described as white, approximately 15-17 years, 5’3” – 5’5”, small build, short reddish hair, short facial hair, black hoody with black/white checkered sleeves, blue jeans, red ball cap with white stitching, black back pack.
The second male is described as white, approximately 15-17 years, 5’3” – 5’5”, small build, black hoody, black ball cap and black back pack.
Area was checked and suspects were not located.
Investigation is ongoing.
