Between July of 2015 and January 2016, the Greater Sudbury Police Service Cyber Crime Unit became involved in a Child Pornography Investigation after a Sudbury resident was observed in possession of Child Pornography on a file sharing network.
On the 14th of January 2016 a warrant was executed at a Greater Sudbury residence. A computer was seized from the residence that contained Child Pornography.
John Gabriel, 51 years old, from Greater Sudbury was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Possession of Child Pornography (4 Counts) – Section 163.1(4) of the Criminal Code of Canada
- Access Child Pornography (4 counts) – Section 163.1(4.1) of the Criminal Code of Canada
John Gabriel attended bail court on the 15th of January 2016 to answer to the charges.
