Updated: Home Invasion on 7th Avenue in Walden
Update - February 1st, 2016 1:00pm: On Sunday the 31st of January 2016 at approximately 11:00 pm; Uniform Patrol officers were dispatched to a reported Home Invasion in Lively. An unknown number of culprits entered the residence with one of them demanding narcotics from the occupants of the residence. Culprits fled the scene and no one sustained any physical injury.
It is recognized any violent criminal act undermines our sense of community safety. In this case, there is no continued concern for public safety in the area as initial information received indicates this incident is not random.
The Criminal Investigation Unit is continuing with the investigation with interviews of witnesses and are seeking public assistance for any information and to contact the Greater Sudbury Police Service at 705-6759171 or Crimestoppers at 222-TIPS, online at www.sudburycrimestoppers.com or by texting TIPSUD and the information to CRIMES (274637).

Original - The Greater Sudbury Police Service is currently on scene at 7th Avenue in Walden at a Home Invasion. Preliminary investigation revealed that two suspects broke into a residence. Once inside, they threatened the elderly residents with a weapon and demanded items from the home. The elderly female called 911 as this was occurring. Once the suspects realized this they fled the residence, jumped into a vehicle and fled the area. Anyone with any information is urged to call police or Crime Stoppers.
