56 years old Greater Sudbury man arrested on multiple child pornography charges

Between October 2015 and January 2016, the Greater Sudbury Police Service Cyber Crime Unit became involved in a Child Pornography Investigation after a Sudbury resident was observed in possession of Child Pornography on a file sharing network.

On the 3rd of February, 2016 a warrant was executed at a Greater Sudbury residence. A computer was seized from the residence that contained Child Pornography and Cannabis Marihuana.

Barry Deblauw ,56 years old, from Greater Sudbury was arrested and charged with the following offences:

- Possession of Child Pornography (2 Counts) – Section 163.1(4) of the Criminal Code of Canada

- Access Child Pornography (2 counts) – Section 163.1(4.1) of the Criminal Code of Canada

Northern Internet Solution

- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (2 Counts) - Section 5(2) CDSA 

Barry Deblauw attended bail court on the 4th and 5th of February 2016 to answer to the charges.

The Greater Sudbury Police Service Cyber Crime Unit is part of the Ontario Provincial Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the Internet which has been made possible by a grant from the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services and the Ministry of the Attorney General
