Spring Water Safety

The Greater Sudbury Police would like to remind residents of the hazards associated to streams, rivers, ponds and lakes around this time of year. We are urging people to keep family and pets away from the edge of waterways.
Spring has arrived and with the warmer temperatures, people are excited to get outdoors. Warmer temperature represents melting snow and shifting ice which can contribute to higher water levels and fast flowing water. Slippery and unstable stream banks and extremely cold water temperatures can also lead to very hazardous conditions near the shoreline.
Please keep family members and pets safely away from any water’s edge and make this an enjoyable spring.
