Update - April 13th, 2016 11:20am: The mother of the 11yr old boy stuck by a vehicle yesterday evening says that her son suffered two broken legs as a result of the incident requiring surgery, that the surgery went well and he has a good chance of making a full recovery.

The boy simply forgot to check for traffic in his haste to cross the road and the driver attempted to stop but was unable to fully stop in time. His injuries were minimized by the efforts of the driver.

She also offered praise to the paramedics for keeping her son calm and quickly transporting the boy to Health Science North and both the bus driver that witnessed the collision and the driver of the vehicle for comforting her son while they waited for emergency services.

Please slow down people. Children need tour attention. They are just little people. Now this young lad has had his life forever altered and the driver will (hopefully) carry this incident with them till end of days.

My thoughts are with the child and his family. So terrible.

Wow so much conflicting information on news reporting... At first they said it was an 11 yr old girl that just got off the school bus was hit.. Now the article is saying "he" and no school bus involved... Who is proof reading these? I hope whom ever was hit will be okay.... No information is much better than the wrong information. In the future please shssss till you get the correct information.
