Long Lake Public School property to be transformed into Kivi Park

Long Lake Public School is no more, but its legacy will live on in a new community park thanks to the generosity of Long Lake resident Mrs Lily Fielding. The new park will be named Kivi Park in memory of Mrs Fielding’s parents and in honour of the Finnish immigrants who settled the Long Lake area of Greater Sudbury. The former school property will be incorporated into the existing Long Lake Playground to give the community 12 acres of park space.
Everyone from the Long Lake community is invited to come out to a community meeting to envision what the new park will become on Wednesday, April 13th from 6 to 8pm at the Gerry McCrory Countryside Sports Complex at 235 Countryside Drive.
