The City of Greater Sudbury will begin accepting nominations for the 2014 Municipal and School Board Election on January 2, 2014. Nominations will be accepted for the positions of Mayor and Ward councilors, as well as Trustees of the Rainbow District School Board, Sudbury District Catholic School Board, Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario and Conseil scolaire public Grand Nord de l’Ontario.
The term of office is from December 1, 2014 to November 30, 2018.
Nominations must be filed with the Office of the City Clerk, 2nd floor, Tom Davies Square, from 8:30 a.m. January 2, 2014 to 2:00 p.m. September 12, 2014. Regular office hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.
Qualified electors may nominate themselves and each nomination must:
• Be completed on the proper form; Nomination Form – Form 1 (available in the Office of the City Clerk) and on the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing Website.
• Be accompanied by the filing fee; $200 for Mayor, $100 for members of Council and School Board Trustees. The fee can be paid via cash, debit, credit card, certified cheque, or money order made payable to the City of Greater Sudbury.
