TODAY is Friday the 13th!
For some, it's just another day, but to others Friday 13th is a day filled with bad luck.
The number 13 is synonymous with bad luck. Although it is unclear why, It's considered bad luck by many to have 13 dinner guest, to get married or to buy a house on a day marked by 13, and many building don't have a 13th floor.
Friday is also considered to be an unlucky day. Some historians believe that this may have biblical ties and may be because it would have been a Friday that Eve bit into the apple that fell from the tree in the Garden on Eden.
The combination of these two create what some consider a particularly unlucky day.
The fear of Friday the 13th is called Friggatriskaidekaphobia and people who are particularily Friggatriskaidekaphobic do not leave there home or drive on this day.
Research suggests there is very little evidence to show that Friday the 13th is any unluckier than any other day. The topic has been studied and the instances of events like accidents, hospital visits and natural disasters show little to no change on this day.
