Update - August 4th, 2016 10:30am: On the 3rd of August 2016, members of the Break Enter and Robbery Unit (B.E.A.R.), Drug Enforcement Unit (D.E.U.) and Tactical Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Nolin Street, Sudbury.
As a result of the search warrant, nearly 50% of the prescription medication stolen from the physician’s office on Notre Dame Avenue over the weekend has been recovered.
Three adult males have been charged with various Criminal offences to include; Possession of a controlled substance for the Purpose of Trafficking x 3; Possession of Property Obtained by Crime; and Possession of Break and Enter instruments. In addition, two of these males are also charged with the Break, Enter and Theft at the physician’s office.
As significant amounts of stolen Fentanyl, Versed, Remifentanil and Morphine are still outstanding, members of the public are reminded of the significant real danger to their personal safety when these drugs are used outside the direction of a qualified physician.

Original: On the 28th of July 2016, a Break and Enter occurred at a Doctor’s Office on Notre Dame Avenue.
Once inside the suspect(s) forced entry to a locked pharmacy. It has been confirmed that the suspect(s) stole the following medications. -168 vials of Fentanyl
-78 vials of Versed0
-70 vials of Remifentanyl
-10 bottles of Morphine
Remifentanyl is 100X stronger then Fentanyl and could be fatal. Precautions must be taken if handling this drug. If located, notify the Greater Sudbury Police Service or any Emergency Service agency immediately.
The Greater Sudbury Police Service is aware that the abuse and sale of prescription drugs continues to be of concern to the safety and well-being of our community. Members of the public are urged to take extra precautions when in the care of legal and prescribed medications. If you are in possession of any unused, unwanted or expired prescription drugs, you can drop them off for proper disposal at any drug store or pharmacy at any time.
