Family receives good news on Christmas Eve; missing teen located and safe

The Greater Sudbury Police Service would like to advise that missing person Enoch Kim has been located in a Gazebo on Ester Road by the home owners. The property wherein he was found is outside the police ground search area and had not yet been canvassed by police.
Enoch was transported to Health Sciences North and is currently being examined.
Although the Police continue to investigate this matter, there does not appear to be anything suspicious.
The Greater Sudbury Police Service and Kim family wish to thank members of the Public, North Shore Search and Rescue and other Volunteers as well as the Ontario Provincial Police for their assistance in this matter.

Update - Greater Sudbury Police Search and Rescue efforts continued throughout the day with the assistance of the North Shore Search and Rescue.
The OPP helicopter has completed the aerial search of the area.
Enoch Kim has not been located.
This evening, Greater Sudbury Police Officers with the assistance of Auxiliary Officers will be going door-to-door in the area of Southview Drive and Kelly Lake Road as part of the Notification of Community Crime Program (N.O.C.C.) to inform citizens of the ongoing investigation and to ask them to check their property for the youth.
Officers will continue to search the area and respond to tips and leads as they come in to Police.
Enoch’s family is extremely worried about him and they want him to know that he is not in trouble and to please come home, call home or call the Police.

Update - Greater Sudbury Police are continuing with search efforts in relation to missing youth, Enoch Kim.
Greater Sudbury Police Officers continue to canvass in the areas of Bouchard Street, Southview Drive and Kelly Lake Road in an effort to locate any witnesses or video surveillance that may have captured the youth in those areas after 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2016.

Police told the media this morning at a press conference they are taking the case “very seriously.” Kim, a 16 year old male, has never gone missing before and left his house under-dressed following a “family conflict” on December 20th, 2016.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division are actively investigating all potential sightings and leads.
Greater Sudbury Police Search and Rescue Officers are being assisted by the North Shore Search and Rescue Unit with continued ground searches of these areas.
The OPP helicopter continues its aerial search that began yesterday afternoon.
Greater Sudbury Police are asking residents and businesses in the area to check their properties, including sheds, outbuildings, stored boats and vehicles, or any structures that may have provided shelter for this youth. Police also ask that residents and business check any video surveillance on their properties that may have captured the youth.

He was last observed in the area of Bouchard Street at Southview Drive at approximately 9:20 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 wearing light-blue and dark-blue checkered pajama pants, a navy blue fleece hoodie with orange letters on the front and black boots.
Greater Sudbury Police Service is receiving a number of requests from the public to assist with search efforts in locating Enoch Kim. At this stage our search is being guided by a qualified Search Manager based on the best information and evidence available utilizing proven search techniques. Public searchers create additional safety risks that we are not able to manage. The public can assist by checking their own property and by remaining alert while going about their day-to-day business. A large scale public search without specific evidence pointing us to a focused area is not recommended at this time.

The Greater Sudbury Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a missing 16-year old male, Enoch Kim.

He is described as being 5’4” tall, weighing 121 pounds, with short black hair and dark brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing light-blue checkered pyjamas pants, black winter boots, and a dark-blue fleece hoodie with orange letters on the front.

Enoch was last seen at 9:20 p.m on December 20th, 2016 walking on Bouchard Street heading towards Kelly Lake Road.
