36 year old man charged with impaired driving on Highway 69 #Sudbury

(SUDBURY, ON) -On June 30, 2017 at 10:15 p.m., Sudbury Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call of an aggressive driver northbound on Highway 69 in the City of Greater Sudbury. The vehicle was located and it was noted that it was being operated in excess of the posted speed limit. The vehicle was stopped and the officer noted that the driver appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.
As a result of the investigation:
Harry GREEN, 36 years of age from Greater Sudbury was charged with:
-Driving While Ability Impaired by Alcohol, contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CC)
-Driving With More Than 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in Blood, contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the CC
-Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, contrary to section 249(1)(a) of the CC
-Race a motor vehicle - Excessive Speed, contrary to section 172(1) of The Highway Traffic Act
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sudbury on July 26, 2017 to answer to his charges. His driver's licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle he was driving was impounded for seven days.
The OPP is reminding motorists th at there is no safe amount of alcohol consumption when driving. Anyone who suspects a driver that is driving while impaired is urged to call police by dialing 9-1-1immediately.
