Social media reports of a down aircraft began around 5:00pm with reports of several emergency vehicles in the area and speculation of a downed aircraft.
Greater Sudbury Police Service confirm that they, in conjunction with Emergency Medical Services and Sudbury Fire Services, responded to a plane crash north of the City of Sudbury.
Search and Rescue Technicians and Search and Rescue aircraft from Canadian Forces Base Trenton are working collaboratively with Greater Sudbury Police Service and Sudbury Fire Services in this matter.
Greater Sudbury Fire Service has made contact with the pilot who appears to be in good health and are preparing to assist him out of the bush. They say the pilot will receive a full assessment from EMS and that his dog also appears uninjured in the crash.
