Shortly before 6 am on Monday March 17th, police and fire
responded to a fire at St Charles College. There were waste disposal bins set on
fire at two locations and a window broken by unknown persons. The Fire
Department extinguished the fire. Police called out a canine unit to conduct a
dog track. A Forensic Unit also attended with members of the Criminal
Investigation Division to gather evidence.
The damage was minor but could have been considerable had the fire not been
called in by members of the public so quickly. At this time this is a criminal
arson investigation. Police are asking for the public’s assistance to identify
those involved.
