(CALLANDER, ON) - Charges were laid after a domestic altercation between two people who were traveling through the area.
On January 13, 2024, just after 10:00 a.m., the North Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was advised of a person who had been picked up on the side of Highway 11 in Callander after being left stranded.
Police attended the scene and spoke to the involved person.
As a result of the investigation a 51-year-old person from Verner was arrested and charged for assault - spousal and mischief - destroys or damages property.
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay sometime in February 2024.
The name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the victim.
