Updated - Pedestrian-Train Collision in Chelmsford

Update - October 8th, 2014: Greater Sudbury Police have identified of the victim of the Train / Pedestrian collision that occurred on Saturday, Oct. 4th. The 63-yr old male was residing in the Greater Sudbury area but was not originally from the city. Attempts are being made to locate and notify family members therefore the victim`s name will not be released.

(Chelmsford, ON - October 4th, 2014) Police were called to an incident involving a train and pedestrian at the crossing located at Main St. and Municipal Rd 15. shortly before 3:40am this morning.

The male pedestrian involved in this incident has succumbed to his injuries. Traffic Management Unit officers are working alongside Canadian Pacific Railway Police and are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding this event. Foul play is not suspected and identity has not yet been established. The roadway has been opened fully at all crossings affected previously by the stopped train.
