Traffic stop leads to drugs and cash

On March 23rd 2014, a member the Greater Sudbury Police Traffic Management Unit and a member of the Sudbury Detachment of the RCMP were conducting enforcement in the Nickel Centre area of Greater Sudbury.  At approximately 8:00 pm, they had occasion to stop a motor vehicle travelling on Falconbridge Highway in Garson.  While speaking to the driver the officers noted an opened bottle of liquor in the vehicle readily accessible.  The alcohol was seized and the interior of the vehicle was searched.  The officers located a variety of illicit drugs and items indicative of drug trafficking including:

•           Marihuana,

•           MDMA (ecstasy),

Northern Internet Solution

•           Psilocybin (magic mushrooms) and

•           $2600 of Canadian currency 

The 18 year old male driver of Garson & his 18 year old female passenger of Lively are charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking drugs.  They are scheduled to appear in court on April 23rd 2014.
