Explosive Specialist called in to investigate suspicious device at Frood Road residence

On the 15th of September 2015, at approximately 3:00pm, the Greater Sudbury Police Service was called to attend a Frood Road address with respect to a Police Assistance compliant. The complainant advised police that there were present at the noted address assisting with renovations, when they came upon an item they believed to be an active grenade. The item was viewed by police who determined the residence needed to being cleared and secured pending further examination. Explosive specialists who will continue the investigation are currently enroute to the city.
