C. R. Judd Public School damaged in firearm discharge incident Monday evening

The Greater Sudbury Police Service have responded to a Mischief Complaint at the C.R. Judd Public School in Capreol, ON. Information regarding the mischief to the school was received from school officials. The Police investigation conducted to date by the Criminal Investigation Division reveals that an unknown person discharged a firearm in the direction of the school causing damage to the double pane glass door at the rear of the school. It appears bullet holes were found to have penetrated into the double pane glass without going completely through.
The Criminal Investigation Division has determined this incident occurred on Monday the 9th of November between 4:30 pm and 6:10 pm in the evening after regular school hours. The investigation to date has revealed no other areas of the school were targeted. No one was injured as a result of this incident and no indication that children were in any direct danger.
The Greater Sudbury Police Service recognize the seriousness and potential injury of such a careless act and are working closely with the Rainbow School Public School Board to ensure parents, faculty and the community of Capreol are kept up to date with the ongoing criminal investigation.
