Greater Sudbury Fire Service responded to a single family home on Crean Hill Road in Whitefish around 9:30pm on March 18th, 2016.
20 firefighters from 4 stations responded to the blaze.
Smoke and fire damage to the home is described as severe. Damages are estimated at $250,000.
Two people were evaculated and have been displaced as result of the fire. The were no injuries.
Greater Sudbury Fire Services would like to remind the public that cooking is the #1 cause of home fires. Don’t leave your cooking unattended. Always stay in the kitchen while you’re cooking – especially if using oil or high temperatures. If a pot catches fire, slide a proper-fitting lid over the pot and turn off the stove. Do not move the pot, let it completely cool off.
