Updated: Police have identified the person found behind Dollarama on Long Lake Road

Updated - April 26th, 2016 10:35am: Folllowing a Post Mortem Examination by the Coroner’s Office, Greater Sudbury Police Service Forensic Officers were able to assist in the identification of the deceased Sudbury man late last evening. Next of kin notification has been made.

Police says the man was in his early thirties and that they will not be releasing the victim’s name out of respect for the family.

Foul play is not suspected in this matter. Police

Updated - April 24th, 2016 3:40pm: The Greater Sudbury Police Service continues to investigate the discovery of the deceased person found last evening.  Earlier today Police conducted a ground search of the area where the body had been located as well as a canvass of a nearby neighborhood.  This remains a coroner’s investigation.  A post mortem examination will be conducted on Monday

On the 23rd of April 2016 at approximately 8:14 p.m. the Greater Sudbury Police Service were alerted to a possible body being located behind the Dollarama on Long Lake Road.  Police attended the area and confirmed that there was a deceased person located in a small body of water off of the parking lot.

The Coroner was notified and is currently in charge of the investigation.
Police are assisting the Coroner’s office in relation to this investigation at this time.
