(COCHRANE, ON) - Electrified brass knuckles seized as part of a search warrant executed by the James Bay Ontario Provincial Police.
On January 10, 2024, the James Bay OPP responded to a report of harassment that was happening within the town of Cochrane.
As a result of the investigation, a 37-year-old person from Cochrane was arrested and charged with the following:
Criminal harassment
Break and enter a place
The accused was released from bail court and was scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cochrane at a later date.
On January 15, 2024, shortly after 8:00 a.m., the James Bay OPP with the assistance of the James Bay Crime Unit, executed a search warrant on Third Avenue in Cochrane and prohibited weapons were located and seized.
As a result of this investigation, the above accused was arrested and charged with the following:
Unauthorized possession of a weapon - four counts
Failure to comply with a release order - four counts
The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontar io Court of Justice Bail Court in Cochrane on January 15, 2024.
Due to the domestic nature of the incident, the name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the victim.
