On June 17, the Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) held its third public meeting at École Ste-Thérèse (Val Thérèse). The purpose of this session was to inform its Hanmer and Val Thérèse school communities of the results of the feasibility study of École St-Joseph (Hanmer), École Ste-Thérèse (Val Thérèse) and École Notre-Dame (Hanmer) as well as the evaluation of eleven school site options in Hanmer and Val Thérèse, which included the construction of a new school as well as the modernization of existing buildings

Again this year, students at Lively’s École St-Paul organized an activity to help our environment. On June 9, students from JK to grade 8 went to Junction Creek to put 500 trout in the water.

Kevin Gélinas, a grade 10 student at École secondaire du Sacré-Coeur in Sudbury was recently selected to take part in the prestigious Youth Ambassadors Program with Canada. Being selected is quite an accomplishment as only 18 youth participants between 15 and 18 years of age from all parts of Canada were retained for this three-week exchange program.

Earlier today on Friday, June 20, some 800 Greater Sudbury students gathered at the École secondaire du Sacré-Cœur field (261 Notre-Dame Avenue, Sudbury) to take part in a traditional powwow and various related events in celebration of National Aboriginal Day. This activity, offered by the N’Swamakok Native Friendship Centre, united elementary school students from the Conseil scolaire

On June 15, 2014, Holy Cross Catholic Elementary and St. Benedict Catholic Secondary Schools hosted the second annual Cubs and Bears Junior Co-ed soccer tournament.
