Tanya Quesnel, a grade 12 student at Sudbury’s École secondaire du Sacré-Coeur, won her third silver medal at the Canada Games in Prince Georges, British Columbia. On February 26, Tanya placed 2nd in the 5 km sit-ski para female race.

This week, the Greater Sudbury Police Services Board convened an in-camera meeting to consider the findings contained in a recently released report by Ontario’s Chief Electoral Officer that Gerry Lougheed Jr. may have contravened the Ontario Elections Act in relation to private tape recorded conversations between Mr. Lougheed Jr. and Mr. Andrew Olivier. Mr. Lougheed was not present during this session.

For the first time in its history, Sudbury’s Collège Notre-Dame will be send a girls’ team to the OFSAA (Ontario secondary schools’ athletics) “A” Senior Girls Volleyball Championship. The provincial championships will take place in Hamilton, from March 9 to 11.
