The Safer School Zones Act was passed today allowing municipalities to use Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE) and create zones of reduced speed to reduce pedestrian/motor vehicle collisions in school and community safety zones and create a streamlined process for municipalities to participate in Ontario's effective Red Light Camera program without the need for lengthy regulatory approval.
