(SUDBURY ON) On July 27, 2016, Greater Sudbury Police Service Officers arrested a male in relation to eight counts of Mischief in the Greater Sudbury area. The male suspect has been connected to a graffiti tag left on multiple local businesses between 2014 and 2015. The male is a resident of Greater Sudbury and he will not be identified as the alleged offences occurred while he was a Young Offender.

The suspect was caught on video by a small business owner and later identified by Greater Sudbury Police via the video footage and the graffiti tag left behind. The same graffiti tag, specific to the male suspect, reported by several other business owners, led to the eight counts of Mischief being laid.
Citizens and local business owners have been enhancing the safety and security of their property by installing security systems and video surveillance systems in order to deter property crimes like this from occurring. This does not mean that individuals involved in tagging will stop; however, it does aid Greater Sudbury Police in the identification of suspects.
