(SUDBURY, ON) - Police say that an elderly pedestrian that was stuck and suffered serious injuries has been taken to Health Science North shortly after 11:00am. The pedestrian remains in serious but stable condition.

Both lanes of Lasalle Boulevard from Northway Avenue to Rideau Street heading towards Notre Dame Avenue will be closed for a lengthy period of time.

Traffic is being rerouted at Northway Avenue; however, transport trucks (tractor trailers) are unable to make the turn on to Northway Avenue.

Therefore, transport drivers are being asked to use the Kingsway as an alternative route

Citizens are asked to use alternative routes in order to avoid frustrations.
