Notice of Filming: Larch and Young Streets

Filming will take place in an area of downtown Sudbury on Monday, August 17, from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

During this time, a full road closure will take place from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Young Street, between Larch and Cedar Streets, for filming of a stunt scene.

SDHU: Horse in city of Greater Sudbury tests positive for West Nile Virus

The Sudbury & District Health Unit (SDHU) reports that a horse in the city of Greater Sudbury has tested positive for West Nile virus (WNv). This is the second reported horse to test positive in the Health Unit’s service area. The first local horse to test positive was reported in August 2004.

Ontario Government introduces back-to-work legistration against teachers

This afternoon, Ontario introduced legislation to protect the school year for 72,000 public secondary students in Durham, Rainbow and Peel district school boards following an advisement from the Education Relations Commission that students are in jeopardy of not being able to complete their school year as a result of ongoing strikes.
